KAJANG: A suspected car thief was arrested during a sex romp with a woman.
A team of police officers was observing the 32-year-old suspect, who is wanted for two “bump and rob” cases along the Kajang Silk Highway last Friday.
He had parked his car at an apartment lot at Taman Industri Lembah Jaya in Ampang at about 2.45am yesterday.
The car was “shaking” and upon checking, the officers saw the man having sex with the woman.
A source said the officers had earlier gone to the suspect’s home here but was told by his wife that he had gone out.
“We managed to track him down in a Proton Wira, which we believe he had used in his robberies, at his sister’s flat and were waiting to arrest him,’’ he added.
The suspect is being remanded until Jan 13 to facilitate investigations into the two “bump and rob” cases along the Kajang Silk Highway, besides being part of a car theft gang linked to seven cases last year.
The source said the suspect was believed to be involved in many other crimes involving drugs and cheating.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Abdul Ghani said the suspect and an accomplice were believed to have been part of a gang which stole a Toyota Vios and Altis on Friday night.
Their modus operandi would be to bump into a car and beat up and rob the driver after he or she stepped out.
ACP Abdul Rashid said the gang comprised four members and were responsible for at least seven “bump and rob” cases in the district last year.
