KAJANG: A mentally unstable man was brought before the magistrate's court here today on a charge of murdering his mother last week.
No plea was recorded from Koh Fong Thiam, 36, who allegedly killed
Koh Po Ying, 76, at a house in No 6, Jalan Awana 19, Taman Awana Cheras,
Batu 9, Cheras, here at about 10.05am on Jan 13.
Magistrate Abdul Jalil Salam Muhamad fixed April 20 for re-mention of
the case pending completion of the medical and forensic reports.
Counsel Anuar Raof informed the court that his client had been
suffering from mental illness for the past 15 years, and tendered a
follow-up treatment card from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical
Centre dated Jan 26.
Deputy public prosecutor S. Abirami appeared for the prosecution. – Bernama
