KAJANG: District police chiefs and heads of
stations must often carry out walkabouts to meet the communities to
impart confidence to the public over security aspects.
Selangor police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said the initiative would
boost cordial communication between the two parties, in line with the
aspirations of the Royal Malaysian Police to foster ties with the
communities.
"We can boost ties with the communities during the meetings so they
know policemen are their friends who are always concerned about their
security," he told reporters after a friendly visit to several locations
here yesterday.
Earlier, Abdul Samah, accompanied by several Selangor policemen,
including members of the Women Peace Squad of Kajang, took a commuter
from the Serdang commuter station to the Kajang commuter station.
They then walked two kilometres to the Kajang Morning Market to meet traders and the public. – Bernama
