KAJANG: Young Muhammad Nabil
Luffan Al Hadi is putting up a brave fight and slowly showing signs of
recovery following a fatal accident which killed his mother and three
siblings on Monday.
His father Muhammad Tauffid Khasim, 44, said
the three-year-old had to be placed in a medically-induced coma until he
recovers further.
“When he was first admitted, he had a fractured skull and internal bleeding, but the bleeding is gradually subsiding.
“The doctors initially wanted to operate to stop the bleeding but since
his condition is improving, the operation has been called off.
“I just want him to make a full recovery and come home to me and his sister,” he said.
Muhammad Tauffid said his son was still being warded in the intensive care unit at the Kajang hospital.
“Doctors are waiting for him to recover more before they operate on his broken leg,” he added.
It was earlier wrongly reported that Muhammad Nabil had succumbed to
injuries at the Kajang hospital on Monday evening following the horrific
accident.
His mother Rohaya Md Rabi, 35, and three of her
children, Nor Nabila Al Huda, nine, Nor Nabila Al Hana, seven, and Mohd
Nabil Loffi Al Hadi, one, were killed instantly when her Perodua Kancil
collided head-on with a lorry near KM8 of the Kajang-Banting Road.
A van travelling behind the lorry crashed into it following the first collision but its driver escaped unharmed.
The case is being investigated as reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
