KAJANG Municipal Council (MPKj) president Datuk Hasan
Nawawi announced at the council’s full board meeting recently that with
immediate effect, waste collection at all multi-storey residential
areas, like flats and apartments, will be carried out seven days a week,
instead of six days previously.
“This move will be implemented state-wide in Selangor and cost RM745,000 a year for MPKj.”
At the meeting, some councillors also voiced out that illegal hawkers were selling junk food to schoolchildren.
“We have carried out operations but the illegal hawkers keep coming back.
“The only way is for parents and teachers to educate schoolchildren on healthy eating habits,” Hasan said.
