KAJANG incumbent assemblyman Lee Kim Sin was the surprise omission when PKR announced its candidates list recently.
Petaling Jaya Utara PKR chief Lee Chin Cheh is now the Kajang candidate.
He is one of the nine new faces in PKR’s candidates list for Selangor and which was announced by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Chin Cheh, the former Petaling Jaya Selatan Gerakan Youth chief joined PKR in 2008.
Despite
being a newcomer, he won the Petaling Jaya Utara PKR division chief’s
post in a four-cornered fight in 2010. Among those defeated was Selangor
state executive councillor Elizabeth Wong.
Lee, a lawyer, was sworn in in 2012 as a Petaling Jaya city councillor, replacing senior councillor Tang Fuie Koh.
When
contacted, Kim Sin, better known as Cikgu Lee, said that although he
was disappointed, he accepted the decision for the good of the party.
However, he wished the evaluation process for nomination had taken into consideration the grassroots’ support for him.
Many of his supporters tweeted their suport for him and expressed shock over his exclusion.
