Kajang's tall buildings

Over the years, the town has been expanding rapidly in all directions and mostly are housing schemes and shoplots. However, they are now some new developments of higher buildings in Kajang. Slowly, the landscape its developing to a city rather than a sleepy town as we use to know a long time.

However, as most people who lives in Kajang know that the actual town area is quite small and there are not many places to actually build new buildings without tearing down old ones.

One particular building is the office towers developed by Brunsfield group. It is actually two large office blocks with a podium and huge by Kajang standards. However, this building has been in construction for ages. I am unsure of the developers intention why it's slowing down in the construction but it's quite pitiful to see the incomplete state after so long.

Nearby this building is the KPJ Kajang Hospital. The only proper private hospital. It was initially build by Sentosa clinic with the Arab Malaysian group but I think they did not have the critical mass to run the hospital and I suppose eventually selling it to the KPJ group. At least, we have a proper private hospital nearby. I have used them a few times for emergency including an appendicites operation for my son and am quite satisfied. It's much cheaper than Pantai or SDMC by far.

Next to the KPJ Hospital, it's the Kompleks Kota Kajang. it's one of the earliest tall building in Kajang. However, over the years the building has deteriorated. It use to have some collages, shopping lots and also an Econsaev but they have all moved out. Currently the building is under renovation. I am not sure what they will turn this into.

The old Majlis Daerah Hulu Langat land is now hoarded up with Metro Kajang boards. It looks they have taken over the land and probably developing it into some type of commercial area. We may at last get some quality commercial and retail area in Kajang in the near future.

Until the next time, cheers.
