KUALA LUMPUR: A lone gunman literally managed to commit daylight robbery, and walked away with over RM24,000 in cash on Sunday.
In the 11.30am incident, the gunman went into a money transfer outlet on Jalan Abdul Aziz in Kajang here.
According to a female store worker, the robber initially fired a warning shot to disperse people in the shop.
"He then fired two to three more shots to scare us. I couldn't see his face because he was wearing a helmet," she said, adding that the robber spoke in Bahasa Malaysia.
She added that the robber ordered workers there to give him all the money in the store, which amounted to RM24,400.
The robber also stole two phones belonging to store workers before fleeing on a motorcycle.
Bullet shells found at the scene are believed to be from a 9mm pistol.
