KAJANG: A motorcyclist was killed after an out-of-control Proton Saga
car rammed into five motorcycles parked underneath a flyover near KM17.2
of the Cheras-Kajang Highway (Grand Saga) in Sungai Long here.
District police chief Asst Comm Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said the incident occured when the 19-year-old car driver pulled the brakes to avoid hitting a car in front at about 4.30pm on Monday.
“His car spun out of control after driving into a waterhole and crashed into the motorcycles.
“Near the accident site was a signboard indicating that motorcycles are prohibited from using the lane,” ACP Ab Rashid said.
“The 53-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Hasril Ab Rahman, was killed while the other motorcyclists were injured.
“They had parked by the roadside to take cover from the rain,” he added.
ACP Ab Rashid said five people were injured in the accident and were taken to Kajang Hospital.
“Ampang police are tracking down Hasril’s next-of-kin,” he added.
