Woman denies seditious Facebook posting was hers

The New Straits Times, 11 February 2014

KUALA LUMPUR: The woman, who allegedly posted seditious and inciting remarks against the Sultan of Selangor and the Malays on Facebook has lodged a police report denying her involvement.

The Facebook account under the name ‘Josephine Mary;’ was allegedly created without the woman’s knowledge, using her details and photograph.

She lodged a report at the Kajang police station on Monday night.

In the posting, the woman had allegedly condemned the Malays and Sultan of Selangor and his statement in the recent use of the word ‘Allah’ issue.

Apart from using her photograph as the profile picture, the contents of the post had also used the name of the church she attended, the Holy Family Church in Kajang and the name of the priest, as well.

When contacted, the church priest, Father George Harrison said the woman had nothing to do with the seditious post, as the account is not hers.

He said the real Josephine had called him on Monday night about the posting and denied any connection with its content or the account, as it is not hers.

Harrison also lodged a similar report.
