OKU man among five detained for drug trafficking

KAJANG: A man with disabilities (OKU) was among five people detained by the police on suspicion of being involved in a drug trafficking syndicate.
Kajang district police chief ACP Othman Nanyan said the OKU man, who was wheel-chair bound was arrested with two others, including a woman, during a raid at Seri Mewah Apartment, Taman Seri Mewah here, last Monday.
"When the raid was conducted, the three of them were packing cannabis, believed to be sold in Kajang and Bangsar.
"Following a search, police found cannabis which was packed in aluminum foil and hidden in a bag under a bed in a room at the apartment," he told a media conference here today.
In another raid in Bandar Rinching here, he said police arrested two women and seized 75 transparent plastic packets believed to contain syabu.
He said all the five suspects, aged between 29 and 39, would be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act. — Bernama
