NEW Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) president Mohd Sayuthi Bakar hopes to receive full co-operation from his staff to improve the quality of life in the area.

“I had a meeting with all the department heads a few days ago and shared my mission with them,” he said on his first day of duty yesterday.

There was also an official handover of duties from MPKj deputy president Zulkefli Khalid during the assembly with the council staff.

Mohd Sayuthi, who was formerly Sepang Municipal Council president, replaced Datuk Hasan Nawawi Abd Rahman who retired in December last year.

Mohd Sayuthi hoped to form a think tank comprising MPKj staff to contribute ideas on how to improve the council’s services.

“The group will not only comprise department heads but also staff from all levels.

“We want everybody to share their ideas and plans to better improve Kajang and its surrounding areas,” he added.

Mohd Sayuthi said it would be easier to obtain residents’ feedback by having such a group.

He also flagged off a squad from MPKj which will go on a flood relief mission to Kelantan.
