Gruesome roadside find for clerk

The Star, Saturday January 25, 2014

KAJANG: A clerk who stopped along the Silk Highway to relieve himself made a gruesome discovery – a highly decomposed body.

The 25-year-old man was on his way home when he stopped near SK Taming Jaya at around 6pm yesterday and stumbled upon the body.

It was clad in a green T-shirt and jeans and wrapped in a carpet, said Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab.

“Due to the highly decomposed state of the body, we have yet to identify the body or determine the gender.

“When our forensic team inspected the location, we found a bottle containing what is believed to be petrol,” he said after conducting a walkabout at Bandar Mahkota Cheras here yesterday.

He added that the T-shirt also had burn marks on it.

“We believe the body was dumped at the side of the highway,” he said.

“It has been taken to the Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.”

ACP Abdul Rashid urged anyone who has a missing family member or friend who was last seen in a green T-shirt and jeans to contact the police immediately.

Anyone with information on the case can contact the police hotline at 03-2052 9999.
