The Star, Wednesday January 29, 2014

KAJANG: Police have destroyed 1,204 electronic gambling machines in an effort to clamp down on illegal gambling activities in the district.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab said a court order was issued for the destruction of the items.

“The machines were confiscated from various gambling dens in the district from 2011 to 2013. We have made 89 arrests within that period,” said ACP Abdul Rashid at the district station yesterday.

He added that strict action would be taken against operators, premises owners and caretakers under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
